Difference of Domestic Pets from Exotic Pets

Having a pet is really fun and it adds up a new member of the family. Most of us are adopting  dogs,  cats, fishes, hamsters, bunnies or birds from a pet store or received them as a gift and they are called domestic animals. The family is not complete without a lovable pet at home. They provide wonderful moments on our lives. There are also some other animals that we can keep as pets and they are what we call exotic pets. Unusual pets that can be trained as one of our family.  So what is the difference? Do exotic pets can be train like dogs? Are they available in pet stores? Are those animals safe to keep?

Domestic pets are animals that depends on human to survive and have been tamed and made fit to live with us. They cannot survive without someone taking care of them such as giving food, water and shelter. These are the pets that you usually see in every home or even at the farm such as dogs, cats, cattle, horses, chickens, goats and turkeys. They are capable to breed under human or captive conditions even in ancient times. These pets are easy to maintain and can live naturally into human environment.

Exotic pets is an unusual or rare animal that kept as pet by humans which is not commonly seen on any households. It includes any type of reptiles, rodents, amphibians, other land mammals, unusual birds and fishes even insects and arachnids. These animals are caught in the wild or forest and bred in captivity to live with humans. Even though they are wild caught, they were tamed to fit to live with us. They need special care for them to live so not everyone is allowed to keep them without further knowledge and research. These animals can be your best friends and even become a member of the family if you maintain or set their environment on your home properly. Once you master all their needs and attention they can be as tamed as a dog or as sweet as a cat. Exotic pets are really cool and you can even send them a s a gift to your lovely girlfriend or to someone special.

Living with Domestic Pets and Exotic Pets

Living with your pets is really a nice thing to do. Treating them as one of your family will make your bond much stronger. Your dogs and cats will always be present in every family picture and keeping them at home will be the best hobby to do. It is also the same thing for exotic animals to be included in your pet hobby. You can treat them as a member of the family provided that they are well fed and trained to see people. Keeping them at home will never be a problem especially if you already know  how to provide their needs and requirements to live. Having them is extremely amazing.

There are a lot of people who are keeping their exotic pets together with their domestic pets at home. Trained ferrets sleeping with dogs and cats on the sofa bed, a sweet sugar glider eating with his pet pal kitty and a humongous tamed Burmese python playing with a kid are examples of what these animals can do to make a home complete. Though they are tamed and well trained, practicing awareness and understanding their temperament will make them a very nice pet at home. All these pets will make a better and a unique home environment.
It is possible even for your kids to keep a tarantula, iguanas, snakes, turtles or even hedgehogs as pets. As long as you research a lot of them about their care and their diet, and of course ask for exotic pet permits to local environmental conservation authority. Your kids will surely enjoy cuddling up a new scaly pet or feeding his tarantula.
